Representation. Interpretation. Decision Intelligence.
Better decisions begin with better representation and interpretation.
Augmented Intelligence X™ (AiX) is a
Semantic Operating System for Decision Intelligence.
AiX makes representation and interpretation explicit, challengeable, and revisable parts of the decision process—so new evidence can change not only the answer, but the model of the problem itself.
Why AiX exists
Conventional analytical and decision systems typically begin with the problem as represented.
AiX makes the adequacy of that representation part of the decision process itself.
Before analysis begins, important choices have often already been made. Objectives have been defined. Variables have been selected. Constraints have been identified. System boundaries have been drawn. Relationships have been modeled.
Those choices may be reasonable and still be incomplete.
The relevant question may therefore not be only:
What is the best answer within this model?
But also:
Does this model capture the critical dimensions, relationships, objectives, constraints, and dependencies that materially affect whether the decision can work?
What if the model represents every measured variable correctly—but misses critical relationships that materially shape the outcome?
A consequential relationship may be missing. The apparent constraint may not be the one that actually binds. An objective may have been specified too narrowly. The system boundary may exclude an important dependency. Or changing conditions may have made an earlier representation less adequate than it once was.
In those situations, more information or more powerful analysis can improve the answer inside the existing model without improving the model of the problem itself.
AiX treats representation and interpretation as part of the decision problem—not merely as fixed inputs to analysis.
Core interacting functions
How AiX works
AiX operates through interacting functions rather than a fixed analytical sequence. Each can change the others as new evidence, interpretations, decisions, and conditions emerge.
Representation
Make the materially relevant conditions, relationships, objectives, constraints, and boundaries explicit enough to support interpretation.
A decision does not end interpretation. What happens next can become evidence that changes what matters, how the situation is understood, and how the problem itself should be represented.
Applied to consequential decisions
When the decision depends on more than the information available.
Should we acquire, combine, or walk away?
Can this organization support what the strategy requires of it?
Should ownership, capital structure, or strategic direction change?
What conditions must remain true for this investment thesis to work?
AiX can be applied to a bounded consequential decision when the challenge is not simply a lack of information, but uncertainty about how the relevant conditions and relationships should be represented and interpreted.
Apply AiX to a Consequential DecisionPublished work
The published work
behind AiX
The public intellectual work behind AiX is reflected across three published works examining complex systems at different levels of resolution.

Mapping complex systems.
The Alternative Asset Market
Mapping the Full Capital Lifecycle, Volume I
A structural map of alternative markets that moves beyond asset categories to examine the relationships among capital, claims, vehicles, ownership, governance, incentives, liquidity, realization, and return.

Applying structural analysis to consequential investment decisions.
Private Equity Roll-Ups
A Structural Guide to Buy-and-Build Strategy, Platform Formation, and Add-On Acquisitions
Applies the structural perspective to a bounded investment problem: platform formation, acquisition capacity, absorption capacity, integration, capital requirements, economics, and thesis durability.

Multidimensional interpretation and judgment.
The Strategy Behind the Signal
The Misalignment Tax: Making Structural Risk Priceable in Corporate Transactions
Examines how materially consequential relationships can remain hidden even when individual findings are reasonable, and how their significance changes across strategy, organization, incentives, governance, capability, trust, objectives, constraints, and changing conditions.
Together, the three works move from mapping systems, to applying structural analysis, to interpreting the multidimensional relationships that shape consequential decisions.
AiX operationalizes these principles as a system for Decision Intelligence.
AiX today
AiX Today
Governed knowledge, representation, interpretation, AI-enabled analysis, and human judgment interact to support Decision Intelligence.
AI provides analytical leverage within AiX.
It is not the system itself.
Today, AiX is applied through bounded decision engagements, diagnostics, research, and decision artifacts.

Armando Geday is an executive, investor, board member, advisor, and author whose career spans semiconductors, technology, private equity, venture capital, M&A, and public-market value creation. He led GlobeSpan from an early-stage semiconductor company through a NASDAQ IPO and later served as CEO of the combined company following a multibillion-dollar merger. He has served on public and private company boards and advised investors and operating companies across technology and private markets.
Drawing on that operating, investment, and governance experience, his current work examines structural risk, complex systems, and how consequential investment and enterprise decisions are represented, interpreted, and resolved.
He is the author of The Alternative Asset Market, Private Equity Roll-Ups, and The Strategy Behind the Signal, and founder of Augmented Intelligence X, a Semantic Operating System for Decision Intelligence.
